 Week 1
Lesson 1
Brainstorming Your Channel
This is the first week of the class where we collaboratively work together to discuss what kind of videos and topics you want to talk about on your channel (finding your niche). We will also be discussing what kind of theming you want to have for your YouTube channel by building a brand kit. I will be showing in class how to use Canva to explore theming background to creating your YouTube channel banner and profile picture.
 Week 2
Lesson 2
Creating Your Channel's Content
The second week of class will be about filming content for your channel. This will be a discussion about what type of lighting to use, what your background for videos should look like, camera equipment (or recording with a phone), microphones, what to say/what not to say in videos, how to start and end your videos (and the why behind it), consistency used for each video, etc. We will also discuss about what topic you want to talk about on your first video.
 Week 3
Lesson 3
Editing Your Videos
The third week of class will be about how to edit your video. I will be sharing how to use Wondershare Filmora and also Screencasitfy (for tutorial/gaming videos). I will show you how to cut unnecessary clips and mistakes out on videos, adding images to video, adding sounds and effects to your video, and if time permits, how to use Canva to create intro and outro videos for your channel to add to ALL of your videos.
 Week 4
Lesson 4
Thumbnails, Titles, and Uploading Your First Video!
For the final week of class, I will show you how to create a video thumbnail on Canva. Once the title and thumbnail are completed, I will demonstrate how to upload a video onto YouTube. After this class is finished, you can have a grown-up's help in uploading your first video to your channel! We will also share at the end of class about interacting with your viewers and the importance of interacting within your channel's community.
Learners will be able to:
-Create their own niche for their channel.
-Record their own content videos.
-Edit their videos (add/delete clips, music, sound effects, etc.).
-Know the steps it takes to start a YouTube channel.
-Create their channel's theming, thumbnail art, etc.
-Know how to communicate with their audience.
I am currently a YouTube content creator. My YouTube channel (Teaching Online With Kelsey) is currently being monetized, and I also have over 2,000 subscribers to said channel. I have been a content creator since 2021.
Homework Offered
There will be small projects that learners are welcome to do; these projects will consist of creating their niche and designs for their YouTube channel, recording their first content video, and editing their first content video. There is no pressure in doing the projects if your learner would like to just simply observe the camp as well.
1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
If the learner wishes to participate in the projects for the class, we will be able to observe together their progress and offer constructive feedback if necessary. I will also provide private feedback for individual growth as well.
