Class Experience

Do you have some amazingly funny space jokes that you are dying to share with others? I know I do! Take a brain break and join me in this funny, laugh out loud class, where we will share our favorite Star Wars jokes, space riddles, or even comics with each other.

Why jokes? Well, there are many benefits of laughter.
Laughter can:
Stimulate many organs.
Laughter enhances your intake of oxygen-rich air, stimulates your heart, lungs and muscles, and increases the endorphins that are released by your brain.
Activate and relieve your stress response.

Class Outline:
5 min- Introductions
5 min- Teacher joke time
15 min- Students joke time

Rules: All jokes and riddles need to be clean and free from any harmful or derogatory remarks. All jokes must be cleared with a grown up before class. All jokes must be practiced ahead of time with a grown up. Come with multiple jokes prepared, in case some of yours get shared by others.

Let’s meet the team:

My name is Alyssa. I’m a Top Educator on the Outschool platform.
I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Utah State University with my Bachelor's of Science Degree in Family Life/Child Development. I have an instructor’s license as well as TESOL and TEFL certifications.

I am very excited to meet you! I have been teaching or tutoring since 2010. I love to teach fitness, music, ESL, math, reading, cosmetology (hair, skin, and nails), and anything to do with Disney, especially Star Wars! I am proud to be the original instructor of the Star Wars Jedi workouts for Outschool! I like lightsaber training and finding fun and cool ways to help kids get moving and become more involved with fitness! I have worked with all ages, but working with children is my favorite!

Outside of teaching I love to read, run, swim, go on vacation, and play with my children. I have such a passion for teaching and learning. I am a teacher who loves precision and exactness, while still having a lot of fun! I enjoy incorporating singing, dancing, laughter, and excitement into my classes, while making new friends along the way. It is such a joy when my students learn a new concept or skill. I am energetic and always try my best to help my students succeed. I look forward to our fun adventures ahead in learning together! See ya real soon!

If you are taking a fitness or preschool class, Alyssa will be the teacher.

If you are interested in taking our semester preschool class, there are 3 teachers offering classes; myself (Miss Alyssa), Miss Whitney, and Miss Tess.

Miss Whitney’s bio: Hi! My name is Whitney Anderson and one of my biggest hobbies is teaching! I am excited to share some of my passions with your learner and help them discover their own passions! I graduated from Utah State University with a degree in child development. Along with child development, I studied human and family services as well as political science. I have been teaching kids ages 0-12 for 5 years and most recently, I specifically worked to develop preschool curriculum. Teaching and exploring the world are two of my favorite things that go hand and hand and I can’t wait to share this with your learner!

Miss Tess’ bio: I love reading, learning new things, gardening, going for walks, and canoeing. My favorite food is ice cream and my favorite color is yellow. I've been working with kindergarteners for a couple of years now and I love love love watching the joy and empowerment kids experience when learning how to read.
I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Utah State University with a degree in Social Studies Teaching. I have been working professionally with youth and children for 5 years and have experience with gifted and struggling learners, old and young students, English Language Learners, and students with ADHD. I coached debate briefly and during high school, I qualified for the National Speech and Debate Tournament twice. For 2 1/2 years I have worked as an instructional assistant in a kindergarten classroom teaching students reading, writing, and phonemic awareness.
