In this one time class, students will listen to a story, be guided through painting Squishmallows and sort sounds with the i sound.

US Grade Kindergarten - 3
This class will begin with a story called Ish. Students will interact with the story, discussing characters and the story plot. We will use some phoneme pictures to sort sounds focusing on the short i sound. Finally we will spend some time learning how to draw and paint a Squishmallow with watercolor paints. This painting will be a step by step guide for students to learn how to draw and paint a Squishmallow character. During the last 10 minutes of class, students will have additional time...
Students will become stronger in hearing and making sounds through the use of exploring phonics in a fun engaging way. Students will learn how to use some new techniques using watercolor to create a fun painting of a Squishmallow. Powerful opportunity for ESL learners to gain confidence communicating with peers in English.
