US Grade 1 - 3
For this class no background knowledge is necessary. Part of the beauty of spring’s arrival is how differently it’s celebrated around the world. Every country has its own unique way of welcoming the new season, be it through a festival, parade, or communal meal. I will share with my learners eight images of different traditions around the world of how people celebrate spring such as: Songkran Water Festival – Thailand. This annual festival takes place shortly after the spring equinox. ... White House Easter Egg Roll – USA. Holi – Northern India. Nowruz – Central Asia. .. Cooper's Hill Cheese-Rolling and Wake – Gloucester, England. Cimburijada – Bosnia. Spring Equinox in Teotihuacán – Mexico. Floriade – Australia. *Some of these festivities are national holidays for that country and will learn about that with bright colorful images. With my explanation about each one, they understand & learn the tradition, and then we discuss their likes about each one. My learners get to share their spring traditions and celebrations if they have any. At the end, each learner has their own version of the traditions we studied to share with their grown ups afterwards.
Learning Goals
Learners will:
-Improve their understanding about different traditions.
-Realize one subject (spring) can be celebrated in more than one way; which widen their horizon.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have taught classes before on Halloween, Christmas, July 4th and other holidays. All were successful and popular.
I am sure this one will be no different. As a Persian girl, I celebrate Nowruz in March by setting a new year table and share that part of my culture with my own children.
