Welcome to spring! In this one-time course, students will celebrate the new season and participate in fun age-appropriate activities including mindful breathing & mindful movement and a craft to reflect on the day's lesson.

In this one-time class, students will welcome the spring season, get into their bodies, and practice mindfulness in a relaxed and playful environment. They will explore fun, age-appropriate activities including mindful awareness, mindful breathing, mindful movement, and a guided visualization technique. Students will learn mindfulness exercises to support their self-awareness, body awareness, emotional regulation, creativity, and overall well-being. No previous mindfulness or mindful movement is required.
I am a certified mindfulness, social-emotional learning, and yoga teacher (completion of 200-hour yoga teacher training). My method of teaching is secular, inclusive, and with a trauma-informed lens. I currently teach mindfulness to elementary classes on a weekly basis including age and developmentally-appropriate breath work, mindful movement, and visualization & relaxation practices.
Students may finish their mindful craft as homework if they need additional time outside of class.
A pdf with the craft template and supply list will be sent to you after you register for the class. Please make sure that the template is printed and that the pieces are cut before the student's scheduled class. For easy reference, below are the supplies needed for this class: CRAFT SUPPLY LIST 1 - Print out of the craft template (will be sent separately upon registration). Cut the template pieces in advance if possible. 1 - Sheet of green construction paper 1 - Sheet of construction paper in your favorite flower color 1 - Sheet of yellow or brown construction paper 1 - Sheet of white or other light-colored construction paper 1 - Assortment of pens, markers, or crayons 1 - Pencil 1 - Glue stick 1 - Scissors ADDITIONAL SUPPLIES FOR THIS CLASS - THESE ARE OPTIONAL -Yoga mat, towel, or carpet to avoid slipping during any mindful movement exercises -A clear space that the student can move around in -Table space for organizing and accessing craft supplies -Comfortable clothing
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
