What's included

4 live meetings
2 in-class hours
Homework
1-2 hours per week. Students will have access to guitar tutorials and slideshows in case they forget what we’ve learned in class. As always, they also have access to the recordings from Outschool if they’d like to use it as an additional practice follow-along. I give verbal feedback throughout each session to all learners.
Certificate of Completion
Students receive certificate upon completion of course.

Class Experience

This class is for beginners who've never played before. Classical, acoustic or electric welcome. We're learning basic chords, transitioning, and strumming as a foundation for future, more advanced guitar skills. Every session comes with a slideshow and/or videos for reference and additional practice. In my welcome email, I include all details for class setup and success.

NOTE: For a 4 day, one week camp, many learners borrow a guitar to see if they have interest in guitar before buying. This is always a low-risk option, and is a nice way to test learner interest before investing in a personal instrument.

⭐️ Siblings who take the class together must each have their own guitar and separate Zoom device. ⭐️

WHAT IS THE BENEFIT?
A guitar camp ensures every player practices 30 minutes consistently (in class) per day. Consistency advances guitar skills. A camp ensures that your learner will pick up the guitar daily.

TOPICS COVERED
Please see a breakdown of days 1-4 in the syllabus section.

⭐ I see my role as a confidence builder and encourager

TUNING BEFORE CLASS
Time constraints will not allow for us to tune our guitars in class so you'll need to tune prior to your arrival. Please see the materials section for your tuning options.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE
🚩 Arriving on time is CRITICAL. Students who come late will not be "caught up" after the group has advanced.

🚩 If a class is missed, students must review the Outschool recording and/or all slideshow/video materials I additionally link in the classroom stream. There are no makeup sessions. These materials are included with your enrollment for all missed classes.

PRIOR EXPERIENCE
This class is strictly for beginners. If you know how to play chords already, this class will not be beneficial.

Learning Goals

As a beginner, you will learn how to play chords, strum, and put it together to play your first song.
