Hi there! Join me in this week long course that teaches you how to use acrylic paints while we paint super cute animals! This is a beginner level step by step instructional class. Everyday we will create a new project. In this camp students will learn how to color mix, blend colors, add texture, contrast, layering and more from a certified art teacher and life long painter. Each class we'll begin by looking at examples of our painting. We'll discuss how to mix the colors we need and move into a live step by step demonstration. There is no such thing as "good" or "bad" art. With practice we can improve our skills but my main focus is to support individual progress and sharing the joy that comes with painting. Students are encouraged to change parts as they please and embrace our happy accidents. I will keep a slow and steady pace and do my best to wait for students while still continuing at a pace where we can finish our paintings. Students are encouraged to ask questions and share with the class. Most students will be done by the end of class but some may need a little extra time. Note I will teach the class even if there is only one learner so if you're interested please sign up! Schedule: March 13 - Kawaii frog and mushroom March 14 - Axolotl March 15 - Sleeping Red Panda March 16 - Learners’ choice March 17 - Learners’ choice

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi there! My name is Erin Serrano and I'm an artist and teacher living in Austin, Texas! I enjoy teaching drawing, painting, and 3D visual art classes. I have taught ages 5-18 years old in school, at musuems, and online. I truly believe art is so important for young students. It teaches fine motor skills, how to make and work with your mistakes, creativity, and most importantly a way for them to express themselves. My focus is to initiate learning through fun and engaging work. Although it is just me teaching there will be an occasional guest appearance by my cat Meatball! Let's have some fun and make art!
