Sports Math Word Problems Weekly - 5th Grade
In this ongoing club, we will meet once per week to solve word problems using statistics from baseball, football, basketball and other sports. We will learn addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, fractions, and more!

My goal is to create a meaningful, comfortable, social learning environment where students discuss interesting topics and connect with each other. In this class, students will engage in word problems from different sports. We may discuss addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions. We will begin with introductions and an explanation of the course. We may talk about how to read and analyze word problems in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division and fractions. Students will solve problems and explain their reasoning. We will focus on reading comprehension and math skills. Math can be frustrating. However, it can be fun when it's connected to something relatable!
Learning Goals
Students will improve their understanding of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions while solving multi-step word problems.
