Beginner Level
Welcome to the 'Spooky Spider Web' Halloween painting! In this 40-minute small group class, young artists will create a spider web and spider using pencil, crayons, and watercolor paints. We’ll start with an easy-to-follow, step-by-step drawing. Then, we’ll explore what colors work well together for watercolor painting. Students will learn two techniques: the wax-resist method and the wet-on-wet technique, with a live demonstration to guide them. We’ll also sprinkle in some fun spider facts along the way! By the end, your artist will have a beautiful masterpiece to proudly display at home. The benefits of creating mixed media art: Experimenting with different art mediums helps learners take creative risks. Mixing mediums builds decision-making skills and self-confidence. Learners can discover and develop their unique artistic style. Combining mediums allows for rich self-expression. It encourages new ways of thinking that go beyond the art classroom. **This class will not be canceled due to low enrollment.
