Class Experience

In this workshop, students will be guided through the process of creating a whimsical spooky cat painting using acrylic paint on either canvas, canvas board or water color paper.  You will learn to mix paints and several fun techniques. 

Our skilled instructor will provide step-by-step guidance, offering tips and tricks to help you bring your painting to life.

Questions will be encouraged and we will work at a pace that's comfortable for everyone in the class.

This class is perfect for beginners and learners with little or no experience.

Supply List

Materials needed:

*Paint surface:
 canvas, canvas board or watercolor paper

*Paints: I used apple barrel paints from the craft store. You can use the brand you like.
I used:
Bright yellow, white, black, two shades of purple, burnt umber (brown)
You can use any colors you like!

*White chalk. This is used to draw on the canvas. Do not use a pencil. White chalk will disappear, pencil marks will not.

*Brushes:
1 sponge brush (you might want 2)
 1-inch flat brush 
  firm 1/2-inch flat brush 
1/2-inch angle brush (optional)
 1/8-inch flat brush
 1/4-inch flat brush • A small liner brush

*Paint pallet or paper plate, something you can use to mix paint on

*Hair dryer. This is used to help speed up the drying process
Water and cloth to clean your brushes

External Resources

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
