In this spooktacular one time course, students will have the opportunity to put their stressed out brains into reset and engage in some great Halloween-themed brain breaks. Students will take a break from their normal daily routines to enjoy a fun way to rest their weary minds. There are so many awesome benefits to having positive experiences and they can help us to relax. It is so wonderful for our brains and bodies overall. Side note: feel free to come to class dressed in a mask, costume or something fun for Halloween! Schedule: 5 minutes of introductions- names and where are the students are from / who is their favorite monster or Halloween creature? 15 minutes of brain break activities where the teacher explains and the students are actively engaged. 5 minutes during which learners share their favorite part about Halloween or their favorite Halloween they've had. Some of the fun brain breaks may include a variety of: *Fun Halloween jokes (appropriate jokes only - if the teacher feels a joke is going anywhere that is inappropriate, the teacher will kindly redirect the learner and ask if they have a clean class friendly joke to share.) *Roll a jack o'lantern - we can roll and draw and share our fun creations with the class. *Halloween-themed dance-athon and freeze like a Halloween character when the music stops *Choose your favorite monster and show how they would act and what would they do *Monster Says - like Simon Says, but for Halloween (eg: Monster says: "arhhh" like an angry pirate / walk like a mummy / fly like a superhero / cackle like a witch / howl like a werewolf / turn into a scarecrow / freeze...) *Would you rather - (eg: Would you rather be a ghost or a witch? / Would you rather have to walk like a zombie or fly like a witch?) There are many awesome benefits to having some fun brain breaks including: - having more overall joy and positivity in your life - sparking extra creativity in your brain - pushing that reset button that your mind and body definitely need from time to time - finding some extra courage to do things you maybe wouldn't normally do - helping to boost those socialization skills while having a fun time with peers - destressing and finding some healthy ways for extra motivation I look forward to having your child in class soon!
