What's included
1 live meeting
30 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
Students will learn in a variety of ways including through a Powerpoint presentation, a short video, group discussion/practice and independent worksheets. We will start class with a brief introduction and then get right to learning the FLOSS spelling rule. I will explain the rule using visuals, discuss examples and practice the rule and if there is time, help them start independent practice!
Learning Goals
Students will learn about the FLOSS spelling rule. By the end of class, they will have a better idea of when to double F, L, S and Z at the end of one syllable words. They will be introduced to what a closed syllable is, what that means for the vowel sound and how the FLOSS rule plays into it!

Parental Guidance
Parental guidance is not needed. Parents might want to listen in so they can help support new spelling knowledge at home. I suggest students know the sounds of all their letters, the difference between vowels and consonants and are beginning to read words before taking this class. If you want to know whether your child is ready, feel free to message me!
Supply List
PDF documents will be provided AFTER class for follow up work at home. No documents are needed for class time itself. No materials need to be purchased.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
