This course will provide an introduction to and exploration of three main concepts: Gender Identity Spectrum Sexuality Spectrum Biological Sex Spectrum -We will explore how gender identity is constructed and changes across time and place and current and emerging gender identities. -We will explore a spectrum of sexualities, including ACE/ARO and queer identities, and the difference between platonic, romantic, and sexual attraction. -We will examine the range of biological genders and the prevalence of intersex genders according to the latest science. -We will discuss our lived experiences of gendering through peer interactions, media, and cultural expectations and how they affect our sense of self and perception of others. - We will discuss safe sex, including vaginal, oral, and anal sex, and ongoing consent.
