Beginner Level
During this adaptive ballet class students will gain and understanding of classical ballet technique, terminology, and choreography. This class will include barre exercises, stretches, and floor combinations. (WORKING IN 1ST & 2ND POSITION) Each class will: * Provide with activities that lead to, support, and reinforce an understanding of dance by encouraging movement, creative activity, and sensory awareness. * Encourage appreciation and be awareness of their own bodies. * Stimulate fine and gross motor development. * Stimulate speech and language development. * Stimulate sensory, visual, and auditory processing skills. * Establish routines. * Encourage attention, cooperation, and impulse control. * Encourage exploration and self-expression through dance. What will be taught? Students will be taught the basics of ballet. What topics will you cover? Our topic of study will be classical ballet technique. How is your class structured? Each class will begin with a song, warm-up, and stretch. Once these activities have been completed, we will move into our lesson for the day. With a wrap-up at the end of the class discussing what we learned. How will you teach? The class will be taught in English using a differentiated, adaptive, or modified lesson plan. Using repetition, multi-sensory learning, and technology integration as needed. What's your teaching style? My teaching style is very hands-on and interactive. How much will learners get to interact with you and each other (mention specifics like: lecture, games, slides, video clips, discussion)? Students will interact with me through lecture, movement, and discussion. Any required experience or knowledge learners need? Students just need to come to class ready to have FUN! The class will be broken down as follows: Barre breakdown: Weeks 1-2: pile & tendu Week 3-4: degagge & ronds de jambes par terre & a ballet combination Week 5-6: frappes & developpes, small jump echappe & glissade, review dance combination Week 7-8: retire passe & grand battement & arabesque (1st position) small jump sauté PLEASE NOTE: Sessions can/will be adapted based on the level of understanding and skill of each student participating.

Other Details
Parental Guidance
Safety for the student physical fitness routine is important. Please let me know of any previous or current injuries that may affect their ballet barre so we can work around them during the lesson. Please have the student in a small, but open workout space enough for at least a chair and the space for the student to kick their leg. Footwear that is right for the student's floor. Water close by if needed, and any adequate stretching beforehand.
