Students will learn how to define communication, identify communication styles, understand how we communicate affects outcomes and learn how to use I-Statements to be more assertive.
I have a Masters in Social Work, where I specialize in working with children on building their self -confidence. I have worked for 4 years in a residential program with young girls who have had a hard time communicating effectively and have low self -esteem, my goal as their counselor was to teach them the tool they needed to learn how to communicate more effectively and build their self-esteem. I have also been teaching on Outschool for over a year, teaching kids how to cook/bake, crafts and working with girls on to build their self-esteem.

It will be available in the classroom discussion area. The handout is for our activity with the I-statement. Students are encouraged to bring a pen/pencil to class as well as a notebook for taking notes.
