Thank you for your interest in my Spanish class. Level 0-1. Being an ESL teacher and a learner of Spanish all of my life I am excited to teach beginners. My goal is to introduce them to the Spanish language. In this class, I will teach your student the proper way to pronounce basic Spanish words and phrases. I will be speaking to them in English and Spanish. Each student will learn the Spanish alphabet, numbers, verbs, nouns and adjectives. Everything will be taught with flashcards videos and slides. Writing the words, numbers, and letters is suggested. This is important because this will get the student ready for advanced Spanish speaking in the future. I will teach with videos, slides, and flashcards. My teaching style is very visual and self-teaching. I would also describe my teaching style as fun, interactive and engaging. Research shows that students learn very well by repetition. I will teach what is new in different forms. The students get to work together. This helps each person feel comfortable as they learn a new language with others. Worksheets will be given for practice. Spanish class Objectives: Class 1: Alphabet and vowels Class 2: Numbers / Asking the questions and answering. "What's your name?", "My name is ______.", "How are you?", "I'm happy/fine/sad/sleepy/angry/stressed." Class 3: Verbs Class 4: Nouns Class 5: Colors and Days of the week. Class 6: Asking questions and answering What's your favorite color?", "My favorite color is _______." Class 7: Review Class 8: New phrases This class is a lot of fun with activities during the entire class time. I look forward to being a part of this introduction to Spanish for your learner. Hello, my name is Teacher Toni. My classes are very visual. In class, my students enjoy activities and games. Learning independently with guidance and group settings. Which is very effective. Class participation is important but not forced. I am actively a Certified ESL teacher. I have taught hundreds of students. Teaching children is a passion of mine. I've always enjoyed educating children in different settings prior to becoming a certified ESL teacher. Now that I have taken the opportunity to intensely teach children every day, I love it. The light in the student's eyes when they are happy with their accomplishments brings me so much joy. My philosophy of teaching includes allowing the student to be creative. I believe in showing and explaining to the students new content. Afterward, they are able to work independently. Being patient with my students helps them to find the answers to the problem at hand. My philosophy also includes learning by experience. Hands-on classes are very powerful. It allows the student to be more open-minded to the task. My fun comes naturally. It's not always something I plan. I may put on a blue wig for a reaction or sing a random song. You may even see me do a little dance when my student gets the correct answer. When the student does something creative that makes me so excited. My goal is for every student to feel inspired and really good about their achievements. They need to feel comfortable in the classroom and stress-free. I'm also a Master Cosmetologist. I had my own salon for 25 years in the heart of Atlanta, Ga. I've been an Educator for this industry as well. Teaching other hairstylists has been rewarding. As a platform artist, I have traveled around the United States, Europe, and the Caribbean. I love meeting new people, traveling, and learning Spanish. Once you look at my classes you will see I am an Art and cooking teacher as well. I also have classes where I take the students on an adventure. Having fun while learning is important to me. I'm looking forward to meeting you and your child very soon.
