What's included

8 live meetings
6 hrs 40 mins in-class hours
Homework
1 hour per week. I recommend that the learners read the story they created in class. They can also listen to some songs that include the vocabulary they learned in the day. This is not a requirement, but is helpful to the learner.

Class Experience

**Even if learners have been taking Spanish classes for one or more years, if they cannot easily string words together to make sentences verbally, we consider them a beginning speaker, which is appropriate for this class.**

In this winter camp, learners will embark on a journey to fluency filled with fun and excitement! They are introduced to guide words each lesson. Through interaction with the teacher, learners begin integrating these words through speaking and reading the PowerPoint slides. Learners begin building sentences through a lot of repetition. The learners will co-create a story based on the beginning slide. The learner will begin to offer details and make the story his own through speaking and dramatization. TPRS is all about creating sentences and spinning them into a story that is compelling for the learners. Classes are "immersion-like" meaning they are primarily conducted in Spanish, but we briefly translate a word to make it comprehensible if needed.

Being fluent is not created by learning lists of isolated words and phrases. It's about being able to string together your own sentences from the words that you've learned to make stories.

Each class incorporates the following elements:

* Speaking (immersion-like approach)
* Reading
* Co-creating Stories
* Role Playing
* Music
* Activities/Games
* Cultural Insights and Discussions
* Support Materials-PowerPoint slides and props
* Home Reinforcement Materials, such as: reading the story they co-created in class, songs based on the guide words from class, reading articles, MovieTalk videos (including a packet of questions/answers)

Dr. Steven Krashen, worldwide expert in second language acquisition, says, "TPRS® is the best thing out there!" I am excited to show you and your learners what TPRS® is all about! Please feel free to message me with any questions. I look forward to meeting you in class!
