Class Experience

In this ongoing class, students will develop a new superpower-the gift of a new language! Engaging and interactive Spanish language lessons will be centered around a new theme each week. Please see below for weekly theme information. Students will learn vocabulary, grammar, reading, and writing every week at the introductory level. We will end each class with a learning game! This class will be taught in Spanish with translations in English on occasion to help facilitate language connections for students.

Our class structure will be a great combination of fun and learning! The class will start with a conversation warm-up, followed by a reading lesson. Afterward, the new themed vocabulary will be taught through a Google Slides or Canva presentation. The class will then end with a learning game! These language lessons will be engaging and interactive throughout. The Google Slides and Canva presentations will provide lots of visual support as the new vocabulary and reading are introduced. This will help learners make connections to their prior knowledge! Flashcards will be made available each week to help learners retain all new learning.

My learning style is relaxed and engaging. I aim to provide learners with the tools necessary to be successful! There will be ample opportunities for interactions between all learners and myself. We will be interacting throughout the lesson, conversation time, and learning the game! Speaking in Spanish and taking some risks as a language learner will be highly encouraged in a kind, supportive manner. Our class will be a comfortable, fun setting to learn the Spanish language!

There is no prior Spanish knowledge required for this class. This is a Level 1 class for new Spanish learners that lasts 16 weeks and then repeats. For this reason, students may join the class at anytime! Lessons do not build upon themselves.

We will be excited to meet new friends! Feel free to join at any time and rest assured you will be welcomed with open arms!**
