▬▬▬▬▬▬ ⭐Class Description⭐ ▬▬▬▬▬▬ This enrichment class is designed to introduce students to the fundamental concepts of this new language. Students will learn and practice essential information and concepts, such as greetings, simple conversation, numbers, colors, shapes, counting, the alphabet and unlimited vocabulary. The course is taught mostly in the target language but English may be used as necessary depending on student needs. ▬▬▬▬▬▬ 📚Instructor Practices📚 ▬▬▬▬▬▬ The instructor will use slides to ensure that students can see the information clearly. In addition, the instructor will employ various teaching techniques such as hand gestures, facial expressions, voice intonation, and body movements to engage and help students understand what is being taught. Chanting, rhyming, singing, and call-and-response will also be used to enhance the learning experience. Students will interact with the instructor and their classmates throughout the lesson to reinforce their learning. ▬▬▬▬▬▬ 🌍Target Student🌍 ▬▬▬▬▬▬ This class does not require any prior experience or knowledge from the learners. Dr. Scarborough is a native Spanish speaker with a Postgraduate Degree from the International University of Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain, and a DDS from a prestigious university in South America. This, coupled to her ample linguistic experience as a professional Spanish translator, interpreter, and proofreader are the reasons behind Dr. Scarborough’s superb reading, writing and linguistic skills in Spanish. Lounis intends on teaching the four basic language skills (speaking, writing, reading and listening) as well as language test preparation. Lounis enjoys going for walks, cooking, playing soccer, watching movies, and spending time with his family. He looks forward to meeting all his students!
