Hello everyone! This class is designed for students who already have a basic understanding of Spanish. The goal is to improve their writing and reading comprehension skills and to develop independent thinking. During this class, students will read a short book. Before they start reading, we will go over the definition of what a main idea and supporting ideas are, how to recognize principle characters and what a moral of a story means. Students will take turns by reading a page each until the book is finished and then, we will go over vocabulary questions. They will proceed to write what they think the main idea and supporting ideas are, by engaging in two activities: a fill in the blanks activity using different word options and by choosing and writing the correct verb conjugation in several sentences. Everybody will have a turn to share their writing work and to discuss the story. We will finish the class by drawing a scene the students liked the most about the story. If the class size is very small, it might end a few minutes earlier after all work and activities have been completed.
