Bienvenidos! In this one time class, learners will go over the sounds in the Spanish alphabet, and then practice sounding out words. Spanish is a phonetic language, so the letters always make the same sounds. This makes learning to sound out unfamiliar words much easier, once you know the basics. Welcome to the basics! We will go over the vowels, the consonants that sound different in Spanish, and the few combos that Spanish letters have. Once we do that, we will start with small syllables,...

I have lived off and on in a Spanish speaking country for over 6 years. I spent several years helping teach reading in Spanish in Guatemala.
