Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
My name is Adan Ayala, and I am a certified Spanish instructor with over a decade of teaching experience. I hold a degree in Spanish Literature from the University of Guanajuato in Mexico, and I have been teaching Spanish to English-speaking students since 2012. My professional journey includes teaching in diverse settings, from middle and high school classrooms in Mexico to online and in-person courses for adults and teenagers in the United States.

My first teaching experience began in 2007 when I taught literature and social studies to middle and high school students. After moving to the U.S., I transitioned into teaching Spanish to English speakers, tailoring lessons to fit different learning styles and goals.

I’ve had the privilege of working extensively with teenagers, helping them build strong language foundations through engaging, age-appropriate methods. My teaching emphasizes grammar, vocabulary, and conversational skills, enhanced by creative activities such as games, and cultural exploration.

In addition to teaching, I’ve contributed to the field of education as an author, publishing the book "How to Learn Spanish Using Netflix," and as a professional translator and subtitler. My work with media and literature allows me to integrate authentic Spanish-language materials into my classes, making the learning experience both educational and enjoyable.

Growing up in a family of educators, I developed a passion for teaching early on. My first teaching venture was as a guitar instructor for friends and neighbors, which instilled in me the joy of sharing knowledge. Today, I bring that same enthusiasm to every Spanish lesson, ensuring my students feel supported, engaged, and inspired to learn.
