Class Experience

¡Hola!
I have been teaching One-on-One lessons for the last few months, and parents have asked for group lessons.
Now for a lower price, your child can learn the same materials I use for my One-on-One classes but in a group setting.
This is a course for Beginners (Class 1A) where children will learn basic vocabulary, sentence patterns, expressions, and different topics every week.
After this course, students will move on to Beginners Class 1B in the second semester to continue their journey to learning Spanish as a Second language. I like to keep my classes small to give my full attention to each student.

In each class, we will have a new topic. Students will practice making complete sentences using the targeted language learned.
Our beginner course will create a safe, fun environment where students can speak, learn, and encourage others; we will stay positive while learning and build friendships with other children. We will also have a fun game of Kahoot at the end of the second class!

Students will be immersed in the language and have fun working together to achieve their language-learning goals.

This class does not build content, meaning studentst can join any given week.
The teacher will explain the lesson; then, students will follow and practice what was learned.

¡Hola! My name is Elizabeth Rendon, but I go by Señorita Rendón. I was born in Mexico and currently live in Arizona. I also lived in Costa Rica and Panama while volunteering as a music teacher to unprivileged communities for three amazing years.

I am an educator with ten years of experience teaching Spanish, Music, and ESL. I hold a bachelor's degree in Music (emphasis on piano and voice) and a Master's degree in Education.
I am also TESOL certified.

I have experience teaching my two passions: Spanish and Music.
I taught Spanish as a second language for two years to elementary and High School students on daily basics. (2016-2018)
Then, I tasted the classroom setting of a Charter School, teaching Band and Piano group lessons for two years (2018-2020)
For the last five years, since I did a lot of traveling between Costa Rica and Panama, I have been teaching online with Magic Ears, VIPKID, and Intervene (TutorGigs K-12 Tutoring services) while teaching piano during the evenings at my Music Studio at home.

My teaching philosophy is learning in a safe, joyful environment.
I am an energetic and passionate teacher that enjoys seeing my students learn, have fun, and grow. My Spanish classes are fully immersive, interactive, and filled with smiles, lots of visual aids, games, music, and props.

I follow the TPRS Method (Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling). These lessons include learning new vocabulary each lesson, short readings through storytelling, games, and repetition.

I love teaching my native language, Spanish, sharing my experiences living in different Spanish-speaking countries (Mexico, Costa Rica, and Panama), and sharing the gift of Music with others!

I can't wait to meet you in class!
