In this13 week semester course, beginner students will learn the Spanish alphabet, greetings, colors, numbers, culture, and conversational skills in Spanish. By the end of the course, they should be able to greet each other, order a simple meal, have a short basic conversation, and a sing few fun songs. The class structure is relaxed. We will learn a concept and then practice that concept with each other. This class will be 100% interactive. We will be practicing the vocabulary through conversational skills. Each student will have practice time in this class. We will learn vocabulary, and sentence structure. We will discuss cultural aspects such as dress, food, and music. There is no required experience for this class. Each week we will review and add to our knowledge. Worksheets for vocabulary and sentence frames will be made available upon request. I am excited to see your child in class as they learn Spanish. I know they will love this language and culture as much as I do. See you in class very soon. Below is the breakdown by topic that we will be working on. Each week we will learn vocabulary, with pronunciation and a sentence. We often have a music video on youtube that is on topic with each lesson. Learners will access Quizlets to help with flashcards and pronunciation. I have been teaching Spanish for over 20 years. I have taught adults up to age 90 and children as young as 5. I have also taught our local police officers the basics of the Spanish language. I have taught from textbooks, videos, and popular language software. I will be teaching this class from a PowerPoint video.
