This ongoing class is for learners with little to no experience in Spanish. Each week we will learn different alphabet letters with adorable cartoon animals and sounds hidden in each letter.

Animals are an ideal way to open up the world of literacy to kids since most children develop a love and interest for animals at an early age. This Bilingual class is a fun way to learn the alphabet in Spanish and vocabulary words. Each week, learners will be introduced to 4 different letters and several animals and words associated with them. We will use sounds and cartoon animals in the shape of letters to make our lesson fun and interactive. Mindful repetition and Total Physical Response (TPR) will be used throughout the lesson to emphasize the target vocabulary and create memorable meaning through movement.
In addition to the new vocabulary based on the letters of the day, students will also learn how to greet and say goodbye to their friends. We will learn some basic conversation as well. Students will become comfortable using their new Spanish phrases as we will practice them in each class.

¡Hola! My name is Victoria, and I'm a native Spanish speaker from Colombia. I have a passion for languages, nature and wellness. I love reading novels in both English and Spanish, I also enjoy drawing and playing tennis with my 8-year-old boy.
I have taught Spanish and English for ten years. Currently, I use my passion for bilingualism daily in Dual Language classrooms. I apply my knowledge and experience to teach children how to speak, read, write, and comprehend Spanish/ English as their second language. I am also trained and skilled in administering reading, math and language assessments in English and Spanish, which allows me to ensure all of my learners are receiving targeted instruction for their exact learning needs.
One thing that makes my teaching approach unique, is that I ensure learning the language is fun and engaging, I do this through games, crafts and hands-on activities that have a context and vocabulary we can explore and offer a better understanding of the language in a fun learning way.
I also love teaching about science, nature and wellness in both languages; Exercise is not only beneficial for your body, but also plays an important part in cognitive development.
