Hello! My name is Brandi Guzman. I have a BA in Spanish with P-12 teacher certification. I have been teaching Spanish for 12 years. I spent 10 years teaching middle and high school Spanish in a traditional classroom. I have also taught Spanish enrichment classes at the elementary level. I enjoy teaching students of all ages. I have traveled extensively and this has given me an interesting perspective on what it means to know a second language. I am not a native Spanish speaker. I had to learn, and continue to practice to become proficient in Spanish. I understand the challenges that come with learning a second language. My goal is to inspire students to learn about different cultures, travel, and put into practice what they are learning.
Homework will be assigned at the end of each class. Each homework assignment will reinforce the topics taught that day. Homework should not take more than 30 minutes to complete.
Notebook / notebook paper pen/pencil highlighter note cards Printed vocabulary list (I will be providing this upon enrollment, but students should have a printed copy if possible.)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students will have individual projects assigned throughout the course to assess their progress. At the end of the course, students will participate in a virtual escape room that will test their knowledge of everything covered in the course.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
