This interactive and engaging ongoing course student will be introduced to the basics of conversational Spanish. Whether you have little to no prior knowledge of the language or want to refresh your skills, this course will help you build the confidence to participate in simple conversations in Spanish.

Course Objectives:
Develop Vocabulary: Through visual aids and immersive activities, you will learn essential Spanish words and phrases that are commonly used in everyday conversations.
Build One-Word Responses: You will start by responding to questions with single-word answers, enabling you to quickly grasp fundamental language structures.
Formulate Short Sentences: As you progress, you will gain the ability to construct short sentences in Spanish, expressing your thoughts with more clarity.
Comprehend Simple Questions: Visual supports, such as images and real-life scenarios, will aid in comprehending questions, making it easier for you to respond appropriately.
Practice Listening Skills: You will be exposed to various audio materials to train your ear to understand spoken Spanish in different accents and speeds.
Cultural Insights: Alongside language learning, you will also be introduced to aspects of Spanish-speaking culture, helping you understand the context and nuances of conversations.

Each week we will focus on ten -fifteen new vocabulary words in a specific conversational topic. Other words will be presented but the goal will be to repeat 10-15 for each topic repeatedly throughout the lesson. In addition, important conversational vocabulary structures will be repeated throughout the entire course.

Students will gain the confidence to respond to simple questions with one-word answers and gradually transitioned to constructing full sentences in Spanish. This foundation will serve as a stepping stone for furthering your Spanish language journey, empowering you to communicate with Spanish speakers in a variety of everyday situations.

Interactive speaking activities will be conducted in a supportive online environment, encouraging students to practice conversing with their peers and the instructor.  To enhance comprehension, visual aids will be integrated into lessons, providing a contextual backdrop for each topic.
