Learner progress will be assessed daily during each lesson as the teacher sees and hears that the student has become independent in reciting the information learned during the calendar routine. Students will be able to ask and answer questions in both languages. Students will have individual turns to demonstrate progress and understanding. Parents can also assess their own child's progress as they become more independent during their participation in class as well as how they are using learned information outside of class.Class Experience
Students will learn and have daily practice with the following information and concepts in both Spanish and English: days of the week, months of the year, how to read and write the date, numbers, colors, shapes, counting, number order, letter names and sounds and rhyming. I will teach from slides to ensure that students can clearly see the information. I will use my hands, facial expressions, voice intonation as well as body movements to both engage and help students to learn and understand what is being taught. I will use chanting, rhyming, singing and a lot of call and response as I teach. Students will constantly interact with myself and their classmates throughout the lesson.
