What's included

Homework
1 hour per week. Learners will be able to participate by: 1. Sharing the Spanish word for their favorite animal in the weekly category (You can use the integrated Zoom function in the Outschool classroom to easily make a short video), 2. Showing their DRAWINGS from the video and copies of their WORKSHEETS, 3. Singing the week's song for us, 4. Re-telling or reading the week's story or book using a little, a lot, or all Spanish, depending on individual ability, and 5. Participating in our weekly learner-to-learner-interaction extension activity.

Class Experience

In this flex (NO live class meetings) course for beginner to intermediate Spanish students, children hear whole language in context, have an opportunity to repeat it while watching the videos and practice vocabulary while sharing their responses.

Each week, in the pre-record lesson, we will:
1. Practice forming the week's letter and/or theme with our hands, arms and/or bodies.
2. Sing one or more songs or say a rhyme or chant related to the week's theme, focused on the Spanish but with English support.
3. Enjoy a book reading or flannel-board story by the instructor in both languages.
4. Extra activity.
5. Create a simple drawing of one or more animals in that category, sometimes using the letter of the week.
In the video, I will ask learners their favorite kind of animal from that week's category, giving them a variety of options. I will encourage learners to make a quick video telling us what their favorite is using the Spanish word.
Additionally, I will also provide a second short weekly video reading the same book or telling the same story as previously, this time only in Spanish.

Although this is flex (asynchronous class), meaning it includes no live meeting, depending on each learners ability, they will be able to participate by:
1. Sharing the Spanish word for their favorite animal in the weekly category (You can use the integrated Zoom function in the Outschool classroom to easily make a short video),
2. Showing their drawing from the video and copies of their worksheets,
3. Singing the week's song for us,
4. Re-telling or reading the week's story or book using a little, a lot, or all Spanish, depending on individual ability, and
5. Participating in our weekly learner-to-learner-interaction extension activity.
