Welcome to Spanish Year 4 Semester 1 Re-current Students:Yay!! Can you believe it you made it to your fourth year of Spanish learning? You are truly awesome! Congratulations!! New Students: Pre-requisite: Spanish Year 3 Semester 2 or Spanish knowledge of colors, numbers 1-1000, shapes, emotions, greetings, body parts, directions, "the" in Spanish, directions, wild animals, school, seasons, days of the week, basic pronouns and conjugating regular verbs in the present tense. Students will continue learning correct pronunciation, reading skills, vocabulary, and practical conversation. Each vocabulary unit will introduce a set of new words with a song that incorporates American Sign Language, reinforces those words with games and activities, and closes with a set of Q&A that gives the new vocabulary context and meaning. At the end of this session, students will conclude with a skit to showcase all the vocabulary and skills they learned in this course. Topics in this session will include: Weeks 1-3: Review of previews topics Weeks 4-5: Math using numbers up to 1,000,000. Weeks 6-7: Food: Students will learn vocabulary and practice using verbs in the present tense to talk about food. Weeks 8-9: Setting the table: Students will continue talking about food, now in the future tense. Weeks 10-11:Silverware Weeks 12-13: Time and activities done during the day Weeks 14-15: Furniture in the house Week 16: Skit "El Restaurante " *Questions & Answers: 1)Do you want.....? Yes, I want..... 2)Who wants…..? I want...... 3)Can you..........? Yes, I can.....4)Who can......? I can...... 5)Do you know...? Yes I know.... 6) Me too! 7) Neither do I. 8) Do you like the _______? Learning Goals
Students will learn vocabulary and conversations about food, silverware and furniture in Spanish/ASL at the same time they learn to conjugate Spanish verbs in present, past and future tense.

Hola amigos! I am a Spanish language and literature Credentialed teacher with 20+ years of experience teaching and designing classes for K-12th grade students. I am also a native Spanish teacher who has lived in a Spanish speaking country for over 18 years. I have taught ASL, English and Spanish as a second language online for 3 years. Even though I have made homeschooling and raising my children my priority, I have a true passion for learning, teaching, and working with children and continue doing it on a part-time basis.
