Students will start to learn present tense verb conjugations. Present tense verb structures will be reinforced during this novel. This class is taught in Spanish.
- There will be a combination of videos, comprehension activities and games in the class. We will learn new vocabulary in the context of the chapter for each lesson. Throughout this course, Students will be practicing the 4 main parts of learning Spanish through reading, listening, speaking & writing through various activities. Activities may include: written or spoken responses in the form of practicing reading/listening comprehension and games to practice the plot of the story. Response activities are centered around the novel.
I have been a certified Spanish teacher for the past 25 years. I have a masters in education. I lived and studied in Spain for several years so I have a true Spanish accent (castellano). I have attended many comprehensible input training and am a certified CI teacher.

Practice activities will be completed individually and may take up to 10 minutes each week. Learners will be encouraged to record themselves speaking Spanish, take a listening assessment and complete an end of the book project.Assessment

They topic of death is discussed during this class (Frida Kahlo's death and life experiences) Google Slides/Screen sharing- Class will be delivered using Google presentations and screen sharing. Quizlet- I will assign optional activities for reinforcement games/activities. Youtube- I use this platform to share educational videos via screen sharing.
The novels for the class are called Brandon Brown Quiere Un Perro and Piratas del Caribe y El Mapa Secreto . Books can be purchased at Wayside Publishing if you would like your own copy. Youtube will be used to show videos. Google slides will be used to deliver class information.
