Homework
Homework is going to be a combination of writing exercises, worksheets and classroom discussions and videos.
Assessment
Each bi-week will end with a Quiz on what was taught. There will be a mid-course assessment and a course comprehension assessment to see students' comprehension of the subject .

Class Experience

This is a self-made curriculum that will focus on the following. A workbook will be provided!* We will be using a discussion-style class as well as using the website FLIP.com (formerly Flipgrid.com) to help foster interactions and discussions

In Spanish Grammar we will learn the following COURSE TOPICS:
1st QUARTER
Vocabulary Introduction for weeks 1 & 2= Colors, Days of the week, months of the year, numbers, and extra words
Week 1:
Guidelines for End of Course Project
Lecture: Greetings, Using gender with nouns 
Week 2:
Lecture: Spanish alphabet, Tu vs. Usted
Bi-weekly Quiz
Vocabulary Introduction for weeks 3 & 4= -ar verbs and their meanings, pronouns, school subjects, school supplies
Week 3:
Lecture: Conjugating -AR verbs, Cognates, Vowels
Week 4:
Lecture:  verb Gustar, Negativesโ€”expressing agreement and disagreement
Mid- course assessment * From weeks 1-4
Vocabulary Introduction for weeks 5 & 6= Clothes, Adjectives and Sports
Week 5:
Lecture: Adjectives, Adjective placement
Week 6:
Lecture: Definite and indefinite articles
Lecture: Estar vs Ser
Bi- weekly Quiz
Vocabulary Introduction for weeks 7 & 8= -ER and - IR verbs
Week 7:
 Lecture: Verb Conjugations (-er and -ir verbs)
Week 8:
Lecture: Irregular Verbs and their conjugations
Bi-weekly Quiz
Vocabulary Introduction for weeks 9 & 10= other essential words 
Week 9: Lecture: Introducing the verb Tener, Spanish Reading and Comprehension

Lecture: Ordering food and drinks, Spanish restaurant culture

Lecture: verbs when talking about food/verb conjugation and agreement
Interactive Activities= Restaurant Experiences, Talk about favorite dish, Fill-in song about food
Weeks 7
Vocabulary Introduction=House vocabulary,
Lecture:  Obligation vs Consideration
Week 8
Lecture: Demonstrative Adjectives, going form possessive adjectives to possessive pronouns
Agreements in sentence structures (Positive and Negative)
Weeks 9
Lecture: Question formations,  review of the past weeks
Week 10
Project Presentation
