****This class is for students that know the basics and want to continue learning. If your students does not know any Spanish you can check out my class for "Spanish for Beginners, Learn the Basics, Introduction Class" **** CEFR A1 Level: ⊛ Student can understand and use everyday expressions and very basic phrases. ⊛ Student can introduce him/herself and can ask and answer questions such as where he/she lives, people they know and things they have. ⊛ Student can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help. ✨By the end of this class students will be able to: ⭐️ Identify vocabulary related to : • Pets • Food • Toys (Video Games) ⭐️ Make sentences using: • Definite Pronouns • Indefinite Pronouns ⭐️ Conjugate the Verb : Have ⭐️ Conjugate the verb : Want ⭐️ Say affirmative and negative sentences using "Have" ⭐️ Say affirmative and negative sentences using " Want" In this Multi- day class, students will learn the basics of the Spanish language with interactive activities and games that will give the students the confidence to keep a short simple conversation. We will practice the pronunciation as a group and then I will ask each student to repeat the words giving each student individual attention and meeting their level. It will be a bilingual class English/Spanish, with lots of Spanish emphasis. Each week there will be a review of the previous vocabulary and an introduction of new vocabulary and a grammar structure. the activities and games will also cover previous classes to keep practicing. After each class, students will get a PDF with the vocabulary, audio with the pronunciation and an exercise to practice the written part. Students can complete the exercises and upload a picture either in the classroom (public for every classmate to see ) or using their private messaging system (preferred) and I will give feedback. There will be an audio with all the pronunciation for students to practice after class. If a student can not attend a class, the audio and the PDF with vocabulary will provide all the tools to practice the concepts and the pronunciation taught during each class. *****CLASS RECORDING POLICY : I do not share recordings of my group classes in order to protect the privacy of all learners (many parents do not feel comfortable with other families having access to videos that include their child). However, you are welcome to watch and help your child, OFF SCREEN, to comply with Outschool Policy, so that you can also have access to the content. Since it is a Beginners class, students will be encourage to practice the pronunciation and create sentences using the vocabulary they know, that will help them gain confidence as they will begin to think and speak in Spanish rather than translating. The routine of the class will be as follow: 1. Greetings 2. Review of vocabulary 3. Introduction of new vocabulary and repetition 4. Introduction of the grammar structure 5. Students practice 6. Game/ Activity Topics to cover: ⭐️Week one: 💫Students will learn: • Definite articles : El/La Las/Los • How to conjugate the verb "Have" in the singular form I / You / He / She 💫Students will review Clothing 💫students will review vocabulary with interactive activities or games from Blooket 📍Learning Objective: Students will be able to describe what is in the suitcase, practicing "I have" "She has", "He has" ⭐️Week Two: ✨ Students will learn: • Vocabulary related to pets in singular and plural • Indefinite articles: 📍Un/ Una 📍Unos / Unas 🕹️ Students will review the vocabulary and the concepts with interactive activities and games. 📌Learning Objective: Students will be able to use the indefinite article in singular and plural and practice that concepts using vocabulary related to pets. ⭐️ Week Three: ✨ Students will review: • Definite articles Un/ Una Unos/Unas • vocabulary related to pets 💫 Students will learn: • How to conjugate the verb " To Have" in the plural from: We/ You (plural) / They • Sentences using the verb "To have " in the negative form. 🕹️Students will review using interactive activities and games from Blooket: 📌 Learning Objective: Students will be able to tell their classmates which pet they have. ⭐️ Week Four: 💫 Students will Learn : • Vocabulary related to food : 🍳Breakfast • How to conjugate the verb "Want" in the singular form: I / You /She /He • Sentences using the verb " To Want" in the negative form. 🕹️ Students will review using interactive activities or games from Blooket: • New vocabulary • Sentences with the pronouns I / You / She / He 📍Learning Objective: Students will be able to tell what they want to eat for Breakfast and what they do not want to eat. ⭐️ Week Five: 💫 Students will Learn: • Vocabulary related to Food: 🥙 Lunch and Dinner • How to conjugate the verb "Want" in the plural form: We / You (plural )/ They ✨ Students will review with interactive activities and games from Blooket: • New vocabulary 📍Learning Objective: Students will be able tell their classmates what they want to eat for lunch or dinner. ⭐️ Week Six: 💫 Students will learn vocabulary related to: 📍Toys ( Video Games) ✨Students will review: • Definite and Indefinite Pronouns • How to conjugate the verb: "To Have" • How to conjugate the verb: "To Want" • Affirmative and negative sentences 📍Learning Objective: Students will review all the concepts and practice what they have learned sharing wit their classmates what video games they have and which ones they want to get. There will be games and activities to complement each lesson, with lots of repetition. **The main vocabulary will be sent in a PDF with an audio to practice the pronunciation, There will be games and activities to complement each lesson, with lots of repetition. **During the last 5 to 10 minutes of class, students will review the vocabulary using interactive activities and games from: "Blooket" and "Educaplay". Students Do Not need to create any accounts. Students need Parental Permission to access Blooket.com/play/ Game.educaplay.com and use a Game ID that I will provide, or to use the link that I will put in the chat. Only the students that are present in class that day will be allowed to play. ***All material will be presented via Canva and screen shared by the teacher. During my College years, I worked for a language company in Colombia (CIL), I was trained by the owner in a conversational teaching method to teach ESL and Spanish to foreigners. It was a great opportunity to learn hands on how to teach others to communicate in other languages, how to teach children both in English and Spanish and how to be a bridge of knowledge in every subject that I was Certified in. It was such a wonderful experience that I kept working for them for more than 8 years giving me vast training in handling English and Spanish classes, I now use that experience and the fact that I am a native Spanish speaker to share what I know with children and to help them cope with anxiety and stress through mindfulness.
Even though my mayor is in International Business, my passion is working with children and learning along the with them.
