Designed to prepare your child for their first year of school, this course covers essential Phase 1 and Phase 2 phonics through fun, engaging activities and BBC Bitesize video clips. Course Outline: Sessions 1-2: Phase 1 Phonics Our adventure begins with exploring sounds and rhythms. In these sessions, your child will: Watch Clips: From BBC Bitesize on environmental and instrumental sounds. Environmental Sounds Instrumental Sounds Activities: Identify and mimic different sounds, play with rhythm and rhyme, and experiment with voice sounds and alliteration. Sessions 3-6: Phase 2 Phonics The journey continues as we delve into the magical world of letters and their sounds. Your child will: Watch Clips: From BBC Bitesize on initial sounds and blending. Enhanced Listening Skills: By recognising and differentiating various sounds. Early Reading Proficiency: Through blending and segmenting sounds to form words. School Readiness: Preparing your child for a smooth transition to their Reception class in September. Learning Goals

Our adventure begins with the basics of sounds and rhythms. In the first session, your child will explore environmental sounds, instrumental sounds, and body percussion. 20 mins online live lesson

The Rhyming Riddle Challenge
We will play with rhythm and rhyme, discovering the joy of nursery rhymes and poems. Experiment with voice sounds and alliteration. 20 mins online live lesson
Lesson 3:
The Secret of the Starting Sounds
Learn the initial sounds of letters s, a, t, p.
Practice blending these sounds to form simple words, crucial for early reading skills.
Engage in fun activities (including a treasure hunt) and games to reinforce their understanding. 20 mins online live lesson
Lesson 4:
The Investigation of New Noises
Recap our letters from previous session and learn the initial sounds of letters i, n, m, d.
Practice blending these sounds to form simple words.
