Love Sonic the Hedgehog and would love an art course focused on your favorite characters? Want to focus on understanding how to draw different characters with unique designs? Then this class is designed for you!

In this art course, students will focus on the characters from Sonic the Hedgehog to practice their drawing, outlining and coloring skills. Students will utilize different techniques and approaches to execute a full body drawing of each character. Students will learn how to measure a full body, how to use their pencil as a measuring tool, utilize guidelines, how to plan the full body, and how to use simple shapes to create a complex form. Eighty-five percent of the class will focus on sketching and drawing. The remaining fifteen percent will be offering tips of how to execute coloring. This will remain loose as different students may utilize different coloring materials.

This class is designed for the Sonic the Hedgehog fan who wants to take their drawings to the next level. Art experience is not necessary but helpful. Please note that this class can be considered a fast pace class and is geared towards beginner/intermediate artists. We work together step-by-step as a class.

For each class, students should expect to focus on measuring, proportions, utilizing basic shapes to create a more complex form, and an opportunity to color their creation. All four weeks will involve drawing, outlining and coloring the perspective character. All of these characters will be full body drawings. Coloring is optional and recommended to be done for homework.

This class will be presented via Keynote and is an art based class. This is a SELF-PACED class and is PRE-RECORDED. This means students will watch the pre-recorded video. Students will engage in questions, class discussions, and art assignments. Homework is optional. Students will be encouraged to share their artwork and engage with their fellow classmates in questions and discussions.

Why SELF PACED?
🔰 Self paced classes are fantastic for international students (Mrs. V is located in Texas).
🔰 Students can work at their own pace. No need to wait on others or feel rushed.
🔰 Self paced classes are an excellent choice for families with busy schedules.
🔰 This class is a "self paced" class, meaning there is no live component, and all interactions between students and the teacher happens on the class page.

SELF PACED FORMAT:
🔹 Video Content: Weekly videos with a step-by-step breakdown of the art assignments are posted. Some videos will have a 15-20 minute duration. The work time for the student will be roughly an hour long. Students will review the video.
🔹 Discussion Prompt/Question/Check-in: Students respond to a weekly discussion prompt and/or question(s) posted by the teacher.
🔹 Complete Artwork: Students spend time completing their sketches.
🔹 Submit Artwork: Students are required to post photos of their completed sketches in the classroom on the designated post. Keep in mind, sharing artwork is essential in a flex class.
🔹 Feedback: Individualized feedback will not be given unless directly requested.
