Hello! My name is Max Bornstein and I have been writing and composing songs for nearly 20 years. In songwriting, you always want to get to the heart of your idea as quickly and as effectively as possible. In my course, we will examine storytelling, explore matters that affect the heart, study song structure, dissect your favourite songs and why you enjoy them, and craft songs you can always be proud of. We will begin by creating sections of songs, followed by short compositions, and finally, fully crafted songs!

The main topics covered in this course will be:
-Analyzing and creating MUSIC and INSTRUMENTALS that support a song & lyrics
-Writing lyrics and discussing formats (stanzas, rhyme schemes, poetry)
-Taking deep dives on songs we love and why we love them
-Song craft creation (what are verses, choruses, bridges, intros, and outros? What makes an effective hook?)
