Class Experience

This class is a music-based class for preschoolers! Children will explore various musical skills such as melody, rhythm and beat. 
Musical concepts are taught through traditional and composed action songs, singing games, singalong songs, chants and activities based off the program Music Play by Denise Gagne! Each class will begin with a welcome song, a connection piece for each child and theme lesson. The themes are introduced using a variety of engaging mediums: felt stories, songs and props! 
Examples of lessons:
November 🍁 
Lesson 1 - Theme: Bears; Musical Concept: Loud-quiet
Lesson 2 - Peace; Musical Concept: fast-slow
Lesson 3 - Forest Animals; Musical concept: high-low
Lesson 4 - Alphabet; Musical concept: Movement 

Each class will end with a sharing time

These classes are highly interactive! Children are encouraged to sing along and move their body! If you would like a more detailed plan for each class, please do not hesitate to message me!

Other Details

Parental Guidance

Parents, please ensure your child is seated and has no auditory distractions (ie cooking in the background, TV on etc). If your child leaves their space, please quietly redirect them back

Supply List

Learners are welcome to bring an item based on the theme for each week! For example, if it’s garden week and they want to bring their rock collection or their favourite lady bug stuffy, those items are welcome in the class!

Hello! My name is Anna Maria Marando and I have been a Kindergarten French Immersion teacher in B.C, Canada for the past 10 years! I am excited to be teaching French in this virtual platform.

Some of the classes I offer:
- Sing and Play with French Circle Time: A thematic approach to learning French vocabulary
- Private tutoring for grades K-1 French Immersion (can be ongoing based on students needs)
- Various seasonal classes such as Winter Animals, Easter, Food, Insects, Halloween, Christmas, Zoo, my Body...and more added regularly!

Teaching Philosophy:
I love teaching French through songs and play-based experiences! My philosophy behind teaching is to make my virtual classes fun, playful and engaging all while learning a new language! When learning a new language, music is the best way to retain vocabulary. The catchy melodies and repetitive language help children learn quickly, all while having fun! I believe its important when learning a new language that children speak as much as possible! So my classes involve a lot of interaction! 

Background:
In 2020, I discovered that there was a need for more French options for young children, especially in a virtual setting. I started teaching a French Circle Time class via ZOOM and LOVED the experience! So I decided to pursue this new path which has brought me to Outschool! 

About Me: 
I am tri-lingual myself. I grew up speaking Italian and English and learned French in school. When I am not teaching, I am usually with my 3 daughters or cooking something in the kitchen! I can’t wait to meet you all!
