Teacher expertise and credentials
As an educator with 31 years of experience teaching elementary and middle school students, I have developed a deep understanding of how to teach math problem-solving and reading comprehension. Throughout my career, I’ve taught all core subjects for grades 2-6, and I’ve also guided 7th graders in Texas history and reading. My extensive experience in teaching math and reading has allowed me to create methods that engage students in problem-solving, including leading professional development sessions on integrating technology into the classroom.
I’ve taught a variety of math concepts, including word problems, at different grade levels, and have seen first-hand how breaking down problems using step-by-step strategies, such as the UPS Check method, helps students develop confidence and critical thinking skills
