US Grade 9 - 11
In this dynamic and focused 1-week course, students will build a strong foundation in solving systems of equations, a crucial skill for success in Algebra and beyond. Throughout three interactive lessons, we will explore the following topics: - Introduction to systems of equations, including types and graphical representations. - Solving systems by graphing, substitution, and elimination methods. Each lesson is designed to last approximately 40 minutes. The structure will include a mix of direct instruction, guided practice, and independent work to ensure students grasp the concepts thoroughly. I have a student-centered teaching approach that encourages active participation. Lessons will include: - Lectures: Concise explanations of key concepts. - Visual Aids: Use of slides and graphing tools to illustrate important points. - Interactive Activities: Hands-on practice with worksheets, group discussions, and problem-solving exercises. The chat box will always be on for students to ask and answer questions!
Learning Goals
Students will be able to define systems of equations and identify the different types (consistent, inconsistent, dependent).
Students will be able to determine the solution to a system of equations by identifying points of intersection on a graph.

Curriculum
Follows Teacher-Created Curriculum3 Lessons
over 1 WeekLesson 1:
Intro to Systems & Solving by Graphing
In this lesson, students will learn the basics of systems of equations and focus on solving them through graphing. This lesson will provide foundational understanding and prepare them for exploring algebraic methods in future lessons.
40 mins online live lesson
Lesson 2:
Solving by Substitution
In this lesson, students will learn the substitution method for solving systems of equations. They will explore how to isolate a variable in one equation and substitute it into another to find the solution. This lesson will enhance their problem-solving abilities and prepare them for more complex algebraic concepts.

Lesson 3:
Solving by Elimination
In this lesson, students will learn the elimination method for solving systems of equations. They will explore how to manipulate equations to eliminate a variable, making it easier to find the solution. This lesson will enhance their problem-solving skills and build confidence in applying this method to various systems.
