Class Experience

US Grade 8 - 11
Beginner - Intermediate Level
This solving equations course will serve as a beginner/intermediate level class for students looking to increase their understanding on solving equations. We will cover the basics of solving equations with one variable.
By the end of this class, students will know how to "undo" or do the "opposite operation" in order to solve a linear equation. My class is structured to be all inclusive and interactive. I encourage my students to identify their points of confusion and utilize not only me, but their peers as a resource. Learners will get to interact with me and also each other through games and a shared chat feature. Beginning with a lecture explanation, we will dive into the fundamentals of solving equations, and follow up with a series of practice problems, Q&A, games, and retention tests. This course is great for students that need extra practice or an introduction to solving equations.
Learning Goals
Students will achieve the following learning targets
- Identifying the variable
-Utilizing Technology to solve equations
-Identifying the operation needed to get the variable alone
-Solving for the variable using a series of steps
