An analogy is a comparison between two things, typically for the purpose of explanation or clarification. Understanding analogies is critical to logic exercises and standardized test preparation. An analogy looks at complex subjects and simplifies them through comparison. In this class, students will get an opportunity to solve analogy examples and identify the types of analogy. Some of the types of analogies that will be reviewed are synonyms, antonyms, object/action, measurement, part/whole, animal/habitat, cause/effect, and source/product.
Learning Goals
Students will get an opportunity to solve analogy examples commonly seen on standardized tests.
