Homework
1-2 hours per week. There will be homework every week. The homework will consist of solving the mystery that I read through a video, solving logic puzzles plus creating their own codes and puzzles.Assessment
No official grades will be given unless requested. I will provide feedback to the students when they solve the mysteries.Grading

Can you solve the mystery of the chocolate snatcher? Who smuggled the video games? Be part of a jury to determine if the person is innocent or guilty. The students will learn through videos and logic puzzles. The videos will be used to practice listening comprehension skills by solving mysteries that I will read to the students. We will discuss what happened and the clues that lead to solving the mystery. The students will practice their reading skills by solving logic puzzles. They will read clues and use grids to determine the answer to the puzzle. The class will also learn different codes such as Morse code, alphabet code, using magic ink, and much more. Plus a little about the history of using codes and some real code breakers. The students and teacher will interact by using videos and post in the Outschool classroom. All materials will be located in the Outschool classroom. The students may use the record a video function in the classroom to "talk" to each other and provide their answer to the mysteries. They can also type out their answer and post it under my post in the classroom. Students can also write out their answer if they don't know how to type. This is a flexible schedule class with NO live classes. The class is 4 weeks long with posts Monday through Friday. I will post the assignments on Monday and the students have until Friday to post the finished assignment.
Learning Goals
The students will learn how to solve logic puzzles, practice reading and comprehension skills. This is a great class for those reluctant readers or who wants some creative way to practice reading.
