In this science class, students will dive into a fascinating topic that directly aligns with the middle school curriculum, focusing specifically on the factors that influence the rate at which a solid solute dissolves in a solvent. This lesson will go beyond the theoretical by connecting these concepts to real-world scenarios, helping students understand how dissolution plays a role in everyday experiences like cooking, cleaning, or even natural processes. The material is thoughtfully broken down into manageable bits to ensure that students can maintain their focus while still gaining a deep understanding of the essential concepts ensuring a solid foundation as students move through the material at their own pace. To ensure flexibility and accessibility, the class is delivered through clear and visually engaging PowerPoint slides. These slides are designed to be easy to understand and approachable. My teaching style emphasizes engagement and understanding by focusing on: Clear, concise explanations: I break down each topic into simple, digestible parts so that students can follow along easily, even if they're studying independently. Supportive and encouraging tone: Even though the class is pre-recorded, I make an effort to create a positive learning environment. Throughout the lessons, I ask reflective questions to prompt critical thinking and encourage students to remain engaged with the material. Self-reflection: At key points during the lesson, students are encouraged to pause, reflect, and consider how the concepts apply to their understanding of the world around them, reinforcing a deeper level of learning. While direct interaction is limited in a pre-recorded course, students still have multiple ways to engage with both the material and me. They can participate in an online discussion board where they can ask questions, share insights, and connect with peers. Additionally, I remain accessible for one-on-one support via email or messaging, ensuring students can get personalized guidance when needed. I strive to respond promptly and provide thoughtful feedback to keep students motivated and on track.
