Geography: Students will learn and create maps using appropriate vocabulary and map features.
The materials will come from an anti-racist, decolonized perspective when speaking about geography and cultural issues. I will use a pre-test with each unit to identify the level needed for scaffolding the materials. The level of information ranges from first to fourth-grade equivalent and I will provide additional resources if the student is interested in going deeper. I am a former special education teacher and created and implemented social studies curriculum for middle school students with disabilities.
Homework Offered
I can offer additional homework for those students who want to explore the topic further. It is not required. Teacher feedback is also offered.

Students may choose to create a free Nearpod account and have two windows open to participate in student activities or use a second device. Or, students can watch through my shared screen and participate through annotation. Nearpod is an approved third-party educational tool. It is rated as excellent through Common Sense Education.
