Hello! I'm Ms. Jennie, and I am SO excited to be teaching on Outschool! I have over 5 years of teaching experience in the public schools as a certified Early Childhood Educator (with ESL and LBS 1 (SPED) endorsements).

My background is with diverse learners, and children with unique needs. (I have my teacher certification in Special Education and have worked in both inclusive and self-contained educational as well as recreational environments such as camp).

I am also passionate about the field of Psychology, I have a minor in and looking to get further credentials such as certificates in Mindfulness etc.) and strongly believe in intentionally teaching social-emotional skills both explicitly as well as implicitly as opportunities naturally occur. I am currently pursuing my Masters in Special Education and will graduate in December 2024.

I believe learning should be fun, and I always try to find a way to tie the student's interests with my teaching and keep them engaged! I look forward to hearing from you, and how we can work together to best meet the needs of your learners!
Homework Offered
There may be extension activities suggested as well as learners will be encouraged to practice the skills we are learning in class to share with the group upon the next class.
0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
There are built-in review sessions and many opportunities for showing comprehension whether it is participating by answering a question verbally, using gestures, drawings or other ways throughout the lessons. Please let me know if you would like more detailed information about your learner.
Grades Offered
paper, pencil and coloring materials for times when we may write and/or draw.
Suggestion: Journal/spiral to keep collections together.
Parents/Guardians and families will have access to the family part of the curriculum for 1 year from the day of access which will start after the first class the learner is in attendance for.

You will have access to some select content from class to review with your learner at home, as well as Power of Pause videos. Your learner will soon find out what these are and it is described above. These are essentially brain break videos focused on themes from relaxation, gratitude, and more. This will be for you and your learner on your own time on the move this world's website, not for any interaction with other learners. This will be the benefit of attending the live classes!

Please have your learners wear closed toe-shoes and have enough space for some movement!

**Please know I cannot share class recordings. I will be sharing my screen through special access using this curriculum. Your learner must be in attendance to be able to benefit the most from that day's lesson. If for any reason they are unable to attend I can do my best to direct you to any of the parental content that may focus on the missed content. Content does get reviewed throughout lessons. Thank you for your understanding. **
I have been granted permission and I am working with "Move this World" to teach this social-emotional curriculum to learners on the platform.
