Class Experience

This course will be taught in an interactive way to help learners know what to expect when a new baby sibling is coming. Learners will learn games and rhymes to share with the new baby, as well as discuss and practice the ways that they can help their parents once the new baby has arrived. We will discuss new things that they may see around the house for baby like diapers, bottles, etc. This class will be taught in a fun way to get learners excited to welcome their new baby sister or brother.

Learning Goals

In these two classes, learners will be prepared for what to expect when the new baby comes into the house, as well as how things could change as baby grows into a toddler. We will discuss and practice safe ways to interact with baby (with parent supervision), and practice changing diapers on our own "babies". The toddler class will practice safe and fun games to play with our growing baby brothers/sisters, including songs, rhymes, and fingerplays.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Stacey Brown. I'm a certified classroom teacher from Texas, and a mom of five children, four daughters and one son, ranging in ages from 2 to 12! I was a classroom teacher in 1st grade, Kindergarten, and Pre-K for 13 years, until having triplets nearly 3 years ago. I am certified to teach Early Childhood-4th grade, and also hold an ESL certification and Master's of Education in Curriculum and Instruction. I began teaching online about a year ago, and am loving it!

I love providing fun and meaningful activities to help my children learn at home, and will be doing the same for your children on Outschool. I believe that children learn through play and hands on experiences, and hope to incorporate this into lessons that I bring. I also believe that literacy is extremely important, and hope to help instill a love of reading and learning in your child.
