Class Experience

Do you want to build a snowman? It could even say your name!

In this one-time class, we will listen to the story: "Snowmen at Night" by Carolyn Buehner and make a cute snowman craft that spells out your child's name! We will listen and students will interact with the story by answering questions during the reading. Once we are done, we can discuss things that we thought about during the story while each learner follows step by step directions to make their snowman!

This activity is great for preschool and kindergarten students. It is a fun craft that first grade students could make, as well! (We made this every winter in my first grade classroom). This activity is great to practice listening and following directions. It is also great for letter and name recognition, as in the end the snowman will spell out your child's name! This is a great craft to save and display for years to come!
Learning Goals
Students will listen and comprehend the story and then make their own snowman craft that spells their name!

Parental Guidance
Parents can help their learners by cutting out the snowman shapes prior to class, or assisting their learner in using scissors to cut out their shapes prior to class.
Supply List
Printable pages will be provided prior to class. One will be the snowman's body and one will be to decorate the face. If you are singed up the day before, I will send a personalized page for your student.

If you sign up later, that is okay! I will have a blank page for you to print out for your learner. The number of pages will depend on the number of letters in your child's name. You will need one snowball for each letter of your child's name (6 snowballs fit on a page) and then there is 1 page for the snowman's face. (If a printer is not available, these pictures will be simple enough for you to draw and copy on your own page, then cut out prior to class).

**Please print and cut out the shapes prior to class if possible**
