In this one-time course, students will help a snowman find his missing belongings so he can attend the Frosty Ball. They will complete different activities to find the snowman's arms, nose, buttons, scarf, mittens, and hat. ********************** The Snowman's Problem *********************** At the beginning of class, students will be introduced to the problem. There is a blizzard in the middle of the night. Now, the snowman is missing all of his belongings. We need to help Mr. Snowman find his belongings so he can go to the Frosty Ball. *************************** The Challenge ***************************** Students will be given the challenge to help Mr. Snowman find all of his belongings before the Frosty Ball begins. As they search for Mr. Snowman's belongings, they will perform different activities. Students will perform six different activities to find all of Mr. Snowman's belongings. *************************** Activities*********************************** Activity 1: Word Search Students will complete a snow word search. They will search for snow related words in a word search. Activity 2: Create Snow Words Students will be given a variety of pictures. They will use the pictures to create compound words. All the words will be related to snow. Some of the words will include snowboard, snowball, snowsuit, and many more. Activity 3: What's the Word: Students will look at pictures to determine a word or phrase that is related to snow. Activity 4: Which does not belong? Students will look at a group of pictures or words. They will determine which one does not belong in each group. Activity 5: Create Winter Words Students will be given words broken up into word parts. They will match the word parts together correctly to create different winter words. Activity 6: Snowman Code Students will use a code to unveil an important snowman message.

Students will complete different activities as they identify and create a variety of words related to snow.
