Beginner Level
In this step-by-step, guided drawing class we will stack circles in the corners of a piece of paper to build snowmen and snow women that appear to be looking down at us, as if we are laying on the ground looking up (perspective). We will discuss the reasons the circles in the corners are the biggest and the subsequent circles that are stacked get smaller. Students will have the opportunity to talk about, share ideas for, and choose different ways to finish their snowfriends by drawing hats, scarves, and mittens, as well as shapes for eyes, noses, buttons, arms, and other ideas they can think of. I will teach simple coloring and shading techniques to bring life and three-dimensional value to their snowfriends.

As a licensed art teacher, I have developed techniques for breaking down drawing lessons into simple, easy-to-follow steps. Once we get the basics done, I give my students freedom to complete their project using their own imagination, thereby giving them the opportunity to take what I have taught them to a different, fun and creative level.
