This level 1 course, taught by a special education teacher, will focus on short vowels, blends, digraphs, and silent e. Bonus 1:1 reading assessment included. See syllabus for the skills taught in this class. This class meets 2 times a week as an intensive intervention for struggling readers. Recent studies from the National Bureau of Economic Research show that high-dosage tutoring, with at least three weekly sessions lasting 30 minutes each, is key for academic success. π PROGRESS MONITORING Ongoing assessment and progress monitoring are fundamental aspects of my approach to ensure each student's steady progress. I continuously evaluate the effectiveness of my lessons, and make necessary adjustments. As a special education teacher, my commitment is to help students with diverse learning needs overcome reading challenges and build the confidence they need to excel in reading and beyond.
